This one marking the 10th anniversary which so far has proven to be a thoroughly enjoyable occasion with a noticeably more exotic crowd. It seems word has definitely got out that this week is one for the kinky calendar, and rightly so, as guests have come from far and wide to help make these events a very welcoming, eclectic space with a truly social underpinning.
And so another Fetish Week London has fallen upon us.
In the wake of what I can only describe as a fantabulous London pride march was the official start to it all. The recon members party. Held at London’s Circa Club, located in the very scenic Embankment, guests had miraculously shaken off the cobwebs from the previous day’s celebrations. All looking as hot as ever, these guys were ready to sustain the electric atmosphere and let their hair down. Drinks were flowing and the music churning. This was a night to celebrate the wonderful diversity that such a community furnishes. With a whole host of live acts to marvel at and delicious canapés to indulge, this party sought to spoil.
Monday saw the fetish screening which, due to the relaxed atmosphere of it, was very needed after such a weekend of hedonism. A big turnout which is always lovely to see. Sharing stories of recent antics with one another and altogether enjoying the interesting and engaging show.
Onto Tuesdays event and this was one that I was particularly looking forward to. The bondage masterclass. Thinking cap on, I was ready to learn and learn I did. Hosted by ever talented London Wolfpack, guests were treated to a wealth of demonstrations, from simple rope tying techniques, impact play and my particular favourite, mummification. This was a night to get to grips with these skills, whether you were brand spanking new [see what I did there] to it and craved to know where to start or you were a more seasoned rigger who always has a thing or two to improve on. What really stands out about this event for me is that, despite all the necessary advice and safety warnings received from the very accomplished hosts regarding such a practice, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. People are encouraged to have fun and explore the paths that this interest provides. Interactive demonstrations saw guests physically learning and practice as the advice was being fed which is the best way. These guys really put on a great show and it was an absolute honour to be involved. This is not to be missed.
And so Wednesday had arrived and the pups were out to play for Unleashed. Speaking as a pup (biased) this is always a fun night and a chance to really get into your headspace with such a welcoming community. Held at the famous Royal Vauxhall Tavern for another year, the space provided an excellent setting in which to meet and great others who either you’ve always wanted to connect with or old friends you just want to catch up with. Lots of barking, scritches and playing as you can imagine. Sometimes making it quite the challenge getting from the smoking area to the bar. But I do love a good challenge, especially when it involves a little detour with some very adorable characters [on the floor]. Always a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere at this one and some of the gear this year, I have to say, was stunning. Woof! Special mention for Sada Huskus who provided the excellent Music for the night with his DJ set.
