A review of Recon’s Fetish Week London 2016.
Uff … 5 days after leaving the last party we still need time to recover after a great Fetish Week in London. Of course London is by itself a great city to visit but, if its Fetish Week it becomes a MUST to be there. Many different well organised parties which have offered so many great experiences for all kind of fetish guys.
The highlight was Full Fetish which has been hosted for the last time at the Coronet theater, a great location with the auditorium as dance hall and many different rooms like darkrooms, piss area, the sm and bondage room, pup area etc. As the weather was so great that we have had the feeling of being at Fetish Week Sahara, most of the people have been happy about the outside area where it has been a great get together for all kind of fetish guys from all over the world. The Recon team was very motivated and doing a really great job. Apart from the not very friendly bartenders it was a really great party to meet other kinky dudes, socialise, dance and to have fun and action.
But the best of London Fetish Week is that there isn’t only a big party as Full Fetish. There are many smaller and bigger events during the week which are themed to special fetishes. To give you a good overview about what happened during the last week in london, we have collected several feedbacks from kinky guys who have been making party at some of these events:

I thought this was a good inclusion to Fetish Week, not because it was fun, but because it was important. To be honest, I found the Chemsex documentary far more impactful and powerful than Interior.
Leather Bar. The Leather Bar reimagining brought us face-to-face with people’s struggle to embrace and depict a foreign subculture, when they themselves did not fully understand it. I thought that was a thoughtful item to include in Fetish Week because the subculture that these straight actors were struggling
To understand is our own, and that lets us sort of see ourselves from the other side of the mirror.
But it was the Chemsex documentary that made the greatest impact upon me. That’s my city, my London, and it’s an issue that’s very prevalent and very relevant to anyone living on the scene here. It doesn’t matter that this isn’t exclusively an issue for gay men into kink and fetish: this issue affects us because it affects our scene and because some men who indulge in kink and fetish also indulge in chemsex, and I think many, perhaps even most, of us have friends who are directly affected by it. I know I do. I admit, I cringed openly at some of the graphic depictions, and there were some scenes I simply couldn’t watch. In the midst of all the fun we’re having during a week of celebration, perhaps it’s a useful reminder to show us how easily it is to fall into such a trap, and how difficult it can be to get out of it. I found that scarily sobering.

It was my first time organising a constructed piece, and it was also good to be able to show some images that were X rated as well. For me, “Hung Top” what’s the chance to show that sometimes the pageantry surrounding leather can overtake the sexuality of leather and the reason why people got into it in the first place. It also gave me a chance to show the disposability of people now that we have so many apps.

The social aspect is half of all the Fetish Week events and the Bondage Masterclass event at BackStreet was yet another confirmation of that the kink scene is all in all one big community where people share so many interest across. Joining together with the high skilled rope guys showing all guests tips and tricks in bondage BDSM. It was so cool to be able to learn new skills and at the same time to try them out. This gave Alpha Pup Kip the possibility to tie-up his Omega pup.

As TiBo is a puppy, the “Best In Show” was from the beginning on a must go to event. Recon had joined together with Puppy Pride and put Pup Brock on as the scene master handling all the puppies attending. What an amazing show they had put together. The energy and tension within the event was pumping high with expectations. Almost all the puppies where playing around and they had so much fun. TiBo was watching is all together with his Alpha Pup Kip and no need to say his heart was on the stage even though he was not allowed to participate in the competition.

I had a great time at the Best in Show event. Although we didn’t know much about how it was going to work, I went in with an open mind and was pleased with how it worked out. A friend, Pup Piglet asked me to handle him in the competition, so I read up on the details of what the pups needed to do but the information was a bit vague. There were a few stages, personality, obedience, agility and a few others. After meeting up with Pup Piglet at the venue we hastily worked out some hand signals for the Obedience section of the competition where I would have to give the pup a variety of instructions. I told him to be as bouncy and pup like as possible but to stop moving as soon as i raised my hand to show he was a well trained pup. My only negative side was that I ended up standing on stage for a good two and a half hours, not really doing very much and thirsting for a drink; until the surprise handler competition anyway. I had to try and tame two pups who had been told to be mischievous. That was a lot of fun. Overall the event seemed very successful the audience seemed to get in the spirit of things, cheering and applauding the pups for their achievements. And my pup, Pup Piglet won the title Best in Show!

I really enjoyed the show! What I liked was that so many pups and handlers stepped forward to register and take part in it.
Interactive contests like these depend on the energy and enthusiasm of the participants, and it was very encouraging to see so much of both from so many keen and eager pups and handlers! Even better was seeing them sign up without knowing the exact tasks they’d be required to perform – they found out only during the contest – but nonetheless diving into them enthusiastically and giving it all they had. I think the cheers and applause from the audience indicated just how much everyone appreciated this! And they all did fantastically, each of them had a different sort of energy and contribution, and that made the contest more fun and diverse, I think. So for me, what made it special, is that it was so well received by the participants and also by the audience. Here’s hoping to make this an annual event!

The party was very nice. The Hoist was packed with guys in sportswear, a lot of them very hot 🙂 There was a lot of darkroom action going on too, which I liked and used quite a lot. But you could also talk to somebody when you wanted to and found the space, which I have to say was a bit difficult sometimes, since the bar area was really narrow and crowded. But overall it was quite a good party I would say, and it is definitely on my list next year again too.

I thought it was awesome, as it is every year. Lots of hot, kinky, but also generally safe and friendly people to play with. The split rooms for different fetishes is a fab idea, meaning you can really get into the fetish as you know everyone around you is into it.

Last but not least: The huge Full Fetish party where everything and everybody came together in fulfilling everybody’s darkest dreams. Be it PuppyPlay, Fist Fucking, Pissing, Bondage, Fucking blind folded or dancing to the hardest pumping sounds. TiBo did it all and have to say. He just can’t wait until #FWL2017 comes on next year.
TiBo meet up with almost all his fetish friends and we just had the best time ever and so many new connections came along that day.
This party had it all and then so much more. If I had to choose one event out of them all this is the one! Recon went all in giving so much back to our fetish community and thanking Recon for this just seems not enough.

Working for Regulation, we always get together at the store for pizza and drinks before heading down to the coronet, fully geared up, in taxis. I got a few funny looks from the taxi driver in my black and bright red rubber catsuit and red motocross boots. When we got to the event there was a queue down the road of fetish guys, some already wearing their gear ready for the night. Once we got inside I dumped my bag in the coatcheck and headed straight for the bar, which this year was re-located to the front of the stage in the large dance floor area. In previous years it’s always taken a good few hours for anyone to descend onto the dance floor but this way no one can avoid it. What made this event special, was that I had a pup friend with me and it was his first time, so I gave him the tour of all the debaucherous darkrooms. This event is certainly more than he’d ever seen before. I remember my first time at these events, looking around with wide eyes at the more hardcore side of fetish play. The whole night was a lot of fun, but it ended abruptly at about 3am when I started overheating in my full catsuit. A clear sign that it was probably time to head home and get some sleep before the next and final day of fetish week fun.

It goes without saying that TiBo is into Rubber and the Rubber Gear Party at Union gave TiBo the feeling of being in heaven. Rubbing, smelling, pissing, fucking and so much more. Putting on your gas mask filling the filter with (- yes; you all know with what) and then just float around in the darkroom or on the dance floor. Are you kidding me. That event gave TiBo so much pleasure and the right filthy mind. If you are one of the few not into Rubber; Please have a try.

I attended four events during Fetish Week London, and all of them were really fun! The four events were Sports Cruise, Dinner, Skinhead Party, and Full Fetish. I would have attended even more but my body gave out. All of them were fantastic because they were all so diverse – some were small and intimate and some were huge and a real production feat. In the end, I just love that we get to be in our gear and socialize with one another. I think more and more people are going to come from outside of the UK for the event. Even now, there are growing numbers of guys from France, Spain, Germany and the US, it seems. I had a blast! I can’t wait for next year.
